About Dr. Yates
Meet Dr. Yates
Dr. William Yates (MD, FACS) was the first surgeon in Chicago and the greater Midwest to perform Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) hair transplants. With more than twenty years of surgical experience, Dr. Yates has devoted his career to refining minimally invasive FUE techniques that restore confidence and appearance through healthy, permanent hair growth.
After earning both his MD from Northwestern University, Dr. Yates completed his surgical internship and residency in general surgery at Howard University Hospital, and a fellowship in trauma and critical care at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Dr. Yates is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery as well as trauma and critical care, he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and is a member of the American Medical Society. He holds the prestigious achievement of being appointed as a medical board examiner for the American Board of Surgery.
His office in downtown Chicago is the Midwest’s leading center for hair restoration, including surgical hair transplants, and non-surgical interventions for hair loss. Dr. Yates warmly welcomes all clients who would benefit from hair restoration, with a special focus on African Americans and others with textured hair, and gender-affirming people who would benefit from hair restoration.
